Support network

Your support network includes all the people, services and resources that can help you maintain your wellbeing, particularly when facing challenges.

It is worth taking some time to identify who’s in your support network, so you know where to turn when you need some assistance. Sometimes, you may need to seek support from more than one source.

  • Manager/supervisor and your colleagues at work
  • Family members (both your biological family and ‘family of choice’)
  • Close friends
  • Counselling and social support services

Humans can be an important source of support, but they are not the only ones! Others might include:

  • Pets (your own or belonging to friends)
  • Apps and games

You can use the following template from the Bay Area Transformative Justice Collective to map your support network.
