Emergency access to your MyHR

Imagine you have restricted access to all other health care organisations using an access code.

Then you have a health emergency and you are unable to communicate your access code (e.g. because you are unconscious).

The MyHR system provides for health care providers to bypass access restrictions in an emergency situation (known as the ‘break glass’ function). This provides their organisation temporary access to the documents in your record.

There is no option for a person with a My Health Record to disable this function.
